Board Members

Donald Sloan
Chairman
Donald Sloan is a retired partner with the accounting firm KPMG Peat Marwick, managing the firm’s offices in New York, Des Moines and Kansas City. His 30-year career with the company included his election as the firm’s Chief Operating Partner. He is Chairman and Limited Partner with several companies and currently sits on several boards. He served as YVCA’s founding Board Treasurer from 1991 – 1995.

David Battey
President
David Battey founded the Youth Volunteer Corps, developing the program first in Kansas City before mounting a national collaborative effort to expand the program across the country.

Martha Bottomley
Martha Bottomley began her YVC career as an AmeriCorps Member. She was instrumental in the creation of the Muskegon Volunteer Center. Martha has been the YVC Program Director since 1995, and became Executive Director of Volunteer Muskegon! in 1997. Martha earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations.

Stacey Campbell
Stacey Campbell is an attorney specializing in employment policy matters. He has been with the firm of Shook, Hardy & Bacon since 2001. Previously Stacey worked at Hallmark in human resources. In 1999 he was selected Young Lawyer of the Year by the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association.

Courtney Carter
Courtney Carter serves as the volunteer Chairman of the Omaha YVC program. His professional career includes work at the Girl Scouts, Boys & Girls Clubs, and Urban League. In 2005 Courtney founded Every Child Deserves a Home, a non-profit dedicated to helping grandparents who are raising their grandchildren.

Audrey Langworthy
Audrey Langworthy is active in a wide variety of civic activities throughout the Kansas City area and in the State of Kansas. Audrey was named the Volunteer of the Year in 2004 by the Johnson County Volunteer Center. She served for more than a decade as Kansas State Senator from Johnson County.

Grant Savage
Grant Savage is a Certified Public Accountant working at Kansas City Life Insurance. Previously Grant worked his way up to Manager at KPMG from 1996 to 2004. He is a graduate of the University of Missouri and began his accounting career at UMB Bank.
