YVCA Staff

	David Battey President / Founder As founder and President of YVC, David directs YVC policy and programming, and is a nationally recognized leader in the community service and youth development fields. As a political economy major at Williams College, David developed the initial YVC concept as part of his senior policy thesis. Using the thesis as a guide, he established the YVC of Greater Kansas City, sponsored by the Heart of America United Way. After operating the program for two years, David was hired by Youth Service America to begin national replication of the YVC model with seed funding from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation. YVCA is now an independent non-profit corporation.

	Wendy Elliott Vice President of Affiliate Services As Vice President of Affiliate Services, Wendy is responsible for overseeing affiliate relationships, managing existing site training and technical assistance and managing the successful implementation of several grants. She previously directed an AmeriCorps program based in Lubbock, Texas. Wendy has an BSW and a MPA from Texas Tech University. During her Senior year, Wendy served as an AmeriCorps member with a mental illness/health agency.
